Recipe: Mommy's Old Onion Rondelle
INGREDIENTS
- 1 large onion, cut into ¼-inch thick slices, separate rings
- 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of milk, or as needed
- 3/4 cup of bread crumbs
- seasoning salt, to taste
- 1 liter of oil to fry
PREPARATION
- Heat the oil in a deep fryer at 365 ° F (185 ° C).
- In a small bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
- Dip the onion rings in the flour mixture to cover them well; book. To the remaining flour in the bowl, add the egg and milk; whisk to create a dough. Dip the onion rings in the dough and let them drain on a rack (use a sheet of aluminum foil under the grill for easy cleaning).
- Spread the bread crumbs on a plate and put the onion rings over them to cover them with breadcrumbs.
- Fry the onion rings in the hot oil 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels. Salt and serve.
