Recipe: chomeur pudding with maple syrup
Cake paste
1/2 cup (125 mL) softened butter
1 cup (250 mL) sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp (5 ml) vanilla
2 cups (500 ml) flour
1tbsp (15 ml) baking powder
1 1/3 cup (330 ml) of milk
Creamy Maple Sauce
1 1/2 cups (375 mL) maple syrup
1 1/2 cup (375 mL) brown sugar
1 1/2 cup (375 ml) 35% cream
1/3 cup (80 ml) butter
Preparation of the dough
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until that the mixture is light. Add eggs and vanilla and mix. In another bowl, mix flour and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix well. Pour batter into 13x9-inch (33 cm x 23 cm) buttered baking dish.
Preparation of the sauce
In large saucepan, bring syrup, brown sugar, cream and butter to a boil while stirring. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes or until sauce has reduced slightly. Gently pour the boiling sauce over the dough.
Bake in preheated oven at 325 ° F (160 ° C) for about 35 minutes or until top of pudding is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve hot or at room temperature.
Bon appétit!
