Banana Cake, Mars Bar Glaze
INGREDIENTS
Banana cake:
- 1 3/4 cups (220 g) flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 pinch of salt
- 2 ripe bananas, pureed
- 1/2 cup (120 g) butter, softened
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) of sunflower oil (or neutral)
- 1 and 1/2 cups (300 g) sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk
Frosting to Mars:
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) cream 35%
- 3 X 58g Mars chocolate bars, cut into pieces
PREPARATION:
Banana cake:
- Preheat the oven to 350 F (180 C).
- Butter generously with a 9 "(23 cm) round pan with removable sides and cover the bottom with parchment paper. Book.
- In bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Book.
- In the mixer bowl, with the whisk, cream butter, oil and sugar.
- Add the eggs one by one, whisking well between each addition.
- Stir in the banana puree and vanilla extract and mix well.
- Add the reserved dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into the mold and bake for 1 hour 10 or until a toothpick stuck in the center, comes out clean.
- Leave to rest for 10 minutes in its mold before unmolding the cake on a rack and leave until completely cooled.
Frosting to Mars:
- In a stainless steel bowl, put the cream and pieces of Mars bars.
- Melt in a bain-marie, mixing with a whisk, until the texture is smooth.
- Let it cool before spreading the mixture over the banana cake.
