Recipe : Brown sugar, maple syrup and applesauce muffin
INGREDIENTS
Yield: 12 muffins
Garnish:
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons margarine
For the muffin:
- 1 ¼ cup flour
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- ¾ teaspoon baking soda
- a pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 6 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ cup of melted butter
- ½ cup of applesauce
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 2 tablespoons of milk
PREPARATION
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and butter a muffin pan.
Garnish :
- In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Add margarine or butter and mix with a fork or with your fingers.
Muffins:
- In a bowl, place the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, margarine, applesauce, vanilla and milk.
- Add the syrup and milk mixture to the dry ingredients.
- Pour the dough into the muffin pan.
- Add the filling on the top.
- Bake the muffins for 15 minutes.
