Recipe: Mum buns.
INGREDIENTS
4 cups + 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 tbsp instant yeast or 1 sachet
2 tbsp tablespoons sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 eggs
1 1/4 cup warm milk
Garnish
2 tbsp melted butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp ground cinnamon
Icing
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbspwater
1 cup whole pecans, toasted (optional)
PREPARATION
In a bowl, mix dry ingredients.
Add butter, eggs and milk.
Mix and knead until you have a ball.
Knead the dough 5 minutes with your hands or with the electric mixer baking hook.
Place in a large oiled bowl.
Cover with a clean cloth.
Let rise in a warm place for about 45 minutes.
Garnish
Flour a work plan and the dough.
Roll the dough down to obtain a rectangle.
Brush with melted butter.
In a bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle the dough.
Roll the dough firmly, like a rolled cake, to get a roll.
Cut the roll into slices.
Place the slices in a buttered pyrex mold without touching them.
Let rise in a warm place for 1 h 30.
Preheat the oven to 350 ° F.
Bake in the center of the oven until the buns are golden brown.
Icing
In a saucepan, heat butter, corn syrup, brown sugar and water.
On leaving the oven, divide the pecans on the buns. Pour the hot caramel over the buns too.
