Fast meatball stew recipe
INGREDIENTS
680 g [1 1/2 pound] minced pork
1 egg
60 mL [1/4 cup] oatmeal
1/4 cup [60 mL] milk
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 mL [1/4 tbsp] of seasoned salt
0.5 mL [1/8 tsp cinnamon]
Sauce
75 mL [5 tbsp] of cooking liquid
43.75 g [5 tbsp] of flour
1 can of 284 mL [10 oz] of concentrated consommé
1 can of 284 mL [10 oz] of water
1 bay leaf
PREPARATION
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C [350 ° F].
Mix together well ground pork, egg, oatmeal, milk, chopped onion, crushed garlic, seasoned salt and cinnamon.
Shape the mixture into 25 to 30 pellets.
Arrange on a baking sheet and bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
After 10 minutes of cooking, take 75 mL [5 tbsp] of cooking liquid for the sauce.
Pour into a large saucepan and brown with flour.
Pour slowly the concentrated consommé and the water and add the bay leaf.
Bring to a boil.
Remove the cooked dumplings from the oven, drain and add to the sauce.
Continue cooking for another 10 minutes.
